Anniversary and Milestone Party Photo Sharing Ideas

Published: October 2026 • 4 min read

Anniversary parties, milestone birthdays and retirement dos bring together people who rarely meet: relatives from far away, old friends and several generations in one room. Everyone has photos, and nobody has the full set. Here's how to gather them into one private gallery, in a way that works for guests of every age.

Family and friends celebrating together at a milestone party

Why photo sharing matters at milestone parties

These are the parties people look back on. A golden wedding, a 60th or a retirement only happens once, and the photos matter to the whole family. But the guests are a mixed group. Some are glued to their phones, while others are not confident with technology. A good photo-sharing plan has to work for both.

Ideas by occasion

Wedding anniversaries

For a silver, ruby or golden anniversary, family often travel a long way. Share the link with relatives before the day, so they can add old photos as well as new ones. Put the QR code on the tables so guests can upload photos of the couple on the day.

Milestone birthdays (40th, 50th, 60th and beyond)

Ask guests to upload photos of the birthday person through the years. When the party starts, they can also add the evening's photos to the same gallery. See our birthday photo sharing page for how it works.

Retirement parties

Colleagues, friends and family often only meet at the party. A QR code on the bar or the leaving card table means everyone can add their photos in seconds.

Graduations and family reunions

Big groups spread across a venue or a garden mean no one person sees everything. A single link in the family group chat collects it all, whether photos are taken at the ceremony or the lunch after.

Make it easy for every age

Show the photos at the party

A slideshow is a lovely way to bring a milestone to life. Upload old photos in advance, then open the slideshow from your dashboard on a laptop connected to a TV or projector. You can set it to cycle slowly through your photos, or step through them yourself.

Plan your storage and timing

Here's roughly how much fits, based on an average phone photo of about 3MB (videos use more):

You can invite as many guests as you like. Only the total storage is limited. Download your photos before your storage period ends.

Keep it private

Family events are personal. Guests can upload to your gallery but can't view or delete what's in it. Only you can see everything, once you log in to your dashboard. You can download the lot in one go, as a single zip file, and share the best ones with the family.

Frequently asked questions

Can older guests join in?

Yes. They can scan the QR code with their camera or tap the link on their phone. There's nothing to install. If they'd rather not, a family member can upload on their behalf.

Does it work for other celebrations too?

Yes. Any event where lots of people take photos works, from christenings to reunions. You create a gallery, share the link and collect everything in one place. See the AllShare home page for more.

Can guests upload videos?

Yes. Guests can upload common photo and video formats, including JPEG, PNG, HEIC, MP4 and MOV, up to 100MB per file. Video uses more storage than photos, so choose your plan with that in mind.

Do I need to pay?

No, you can start free. The Free plan includes 200MB of storage kept for 7 days. Bronze, Silver and Gold are one-off payments if you need more space or more time. There's no subscription.
